Merritt J. Green is an attorney and entrepreneur.

In 2004, Mr. Green founded General Counsel, P.C., a law firm based in McLean, Virginia. Under Mr. Green’s leadership, General Counsel, P.C. has steadily grown. Today, it is a full-service law firm with eleven attorneys providing comprehensive legal services for businesses ranging from start-up to multi-billion dollar organizations. Prior to opening General Counsel, P.C., Mr. Green was an attorney with the national law firm, Venable LLP.

In May 2007, Mr. Green “found” Bookkeeping Express and began the process of purchasing the company’s assets from the developer/former owner. Mr. Green serves as the Chairman and a Managing Member of Bookkeeping Express Enterprises, LLC. Mr. Green is a shareholder of the company and, working with the executive team, is building a national franchise that plans on “Revolutionizing Bookkeeping in America.”

Mr. Green received his J.D., cum laude, from the Syracuse University College of Law. Mr. Green received his undergraduate degree from Middlebury College and spent a year as a student of Wadham College, Oxford University.

Mr. Green is a member of the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He also serves as Chair for the General Counsel Committee for the American Small Business Coalition. Finally, through the General Counsel, P.C. Charity Golf Tournament, he is a strong supporter of local charities.
